What happens when we grow up that makes it harder to make and keep friendships? Life! A good friend was feeling kind of isolated and disconnected, and asked me “why is it so hard to make friends as a grownup?” If you’ve ever felt this way, join the club.

Life is full of changes. Friendships evolve and change as we “adult” our way through life. Transitions impact relationships. Marriage, divorce, having kids, illness, infertility, kids leaving home, careers, death, addiction, relocating, aging parents,...these are just a few of the situations that create disconnect. Yet, they also create opportunities for new connections.
